Mayuri - Sly Morikawa

A series of intimate portraits of Mayuri, photographed over two weekends in late 2024-early 2025 in Chiba, Japan.  Capturing moments of beauty, joy, innocence, pleasure and friendship. 

Sly Morikawa is a Sydney based artist working across themes of sex, subculture, and self. Through her sensitive, dreamlike photographs, she explores intimacy, desire, and the dualities of human experience — light and dark, beauty and tension, calm and chaos. Her images blur the line between the angelic and the unorthodox, inviting viewers into a world in which one can suspend biases and taboos.
